Dr. Heather Zechman

Education:

Dr. Heather Zechman has over 15 years of experience in gynecology. She studied Biology at The Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, went on to complete medical school at The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, and then residency at George Washington University. Dr. Zechman has worked in Richmond, Virginia since 2003. She joined Arizona Gynecology Consultants in 2017.

While in college and medical school, Dr. Zechman participated in research projects at DuPont Laboratory and The University of Florida. She also worked as a nurse’s aide, and obtained EMT certification. During residency, she participated in medical student education. Also, she received the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists Award in recognition of her surgical skills. Dr. Zechman is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Zechman is a member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Dr. Zechman’s interests include: minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (traditional and robotic approaches), gynecologic care from adolescence to menopause (including first time exams, gynecologic care for athletes, pelvic pain, irregular/painful menses, uterine fibroids), and patient education.

During her time in Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Zechman was active in community service. She volunteered her time in local medical clinics and traveled to Honduras on a medical mission. In her free time, Dr. Zechman enjoys whitewater rafting, camping, yoga and hot yoga, classic cars (she owns a 1965 Ford Mustang), and listening to classic rock music. Dr. Zechman is fluent in medical Spanish.
