Dr. John Davitt

Education:

Dr. John Davitt followed his passion for service and human physiology through his undergraduate training at Boston University and into medical school at Marshall University in West Virginia. In medical school he was drawn to the exciting and challenging world of Obstetrics and Gynecology. His pursuit of training in this demanding specialty brought him back to his hometown of Washington D.C. where he completed residency at Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center. After completing his residency he earned admission to a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. His additional years invested in fellowship training afforded him the opportunity to further develop advanced medical and surgical techniques to treat complex Gynecologic pathologies.

Dr. Davitt is a board-certified Gynecologist who specializes primarily in the surgical management of complex pelvic pathology including endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids, and pelvic pain. He offers excisional therapy for endometriosis with complete pelvic peritonectomy. He has published articles and videos on various minimally invasive surgical techniques, female pelvic pathology, anatomy, and medical student education.

In addition to his surgical expertise Dr. Davitt is devoted to teaching medical students and serving as a mentor for high school and medical students as well as surgical residents. He serves as a topic expert on “Male Allies” in the American Medical Women’s Association IGNITE program.

Outside of the office and O.R. Dr. Davitt enjoys exploring Arizona, and the world, with his wife and their son and daughter. He is an avid runner, cyclist, and home brewer.
